    Another find as I'm remodeling my basement...this thing has me stumped ...it looks like something you'd fit cowboy boots or other shoes with.....anyone have an idea of what it is or if it has any value?....thanks for looking

      its a cobblers tool to hold shoes to be repaired, a shoe last.

      You don't see these everyday anymore. People throw their shoes away now rather than repairing them.

      We still have a shoe repair shop in town . He is old but I remember going to him as a teenager to have taps put on my shoes( everyone had them then till the schools banned them :-) And watching him work on shoes through the window when we had nothing to do . Nice old piece !

      Not much value in terms of $. Clean it up and use some stove black on it and you have a display item.
