Great color and super rare shape. I really like this lamp. I have always wanted a nice piece of cluthra glass and now I have one.

I think I recognize this ledge from eBay, haha! I've seen some nice lamps sitting there for sale on eBay.

Hey, I saw that you wrote about how it pays to buy the books to study, would you be able to recommend a few titles if you have a second? I've bought a few books on Italian glass, but its super-rare stuff you don't see outside of museums, and I'm looking for a book that can help me identify mid-level pieces instead of eye-candy. Which ones have helped you the most?

That is the fun part! They ALL have helped me! This whole game is all about one piece at a time. You may have the best book ever and never see anything that is in that book. Or you may have some funky old antiques guide and find pieces by using that reference..... and anywhere in between. I have many books and use them all. Old auction catalogs are fairly inexpensive also. It is all a crap shoot. I will tell you this, the books are the keys!

I would say that the best book on Steuben is The Glass of Frederick Carder by
      Dear Stillwater,
Paul V. Gardner. Now there is a recent reprint available too so you won't have to pay a lot for it. You should also go to the CarderSteubenClub.org site. It has many of the shapes shown with photos of the pieces so you get familiar with both the glass and the shapes. Enjoy.
