This 6" iridescent genii bottle or vase in lemon yellow with cobalt pulled confetti spots recently came into my collection. I was able to attribute it as Rindskopf thanks to the 8" vase of identical shape in the familiar Rindskopf pulled/marbled decor. A similar vase may also be seen in a metal mount in the Rindskopf section of kralik-glass.com under the Rindskopf Marbled section... http://www.kralik-glass.com/r-images/marbled/tn-rmb14.jpg
This is my first posting to the collectors weekly site, so I would like to acknowledge my inspiration by the pioneer Rindskopf research started by a good friend, Alfredo Villanueva, without whose diligent work we would still be laboring in darkness. Al correctly points out this is similar to some varieties of Kralik Bacillus. - Cheers!
Welcome to CW. Nice vase. You are so right about the wonderful research that all of us collectors have the benefit of now thanks to Al. Very well said!
Nice acquisition! The base is interesting, not a typical pontil transfer mark, wonder what the story is on it?
@ Project_Harrach ... Rindskopf made a decor some collectors refer to as "snakeskin". The base appears to have that texture. The vase was blown from the top and ground, so perhaps they rested it on whatever tool they used to impart the snakeskin texture to other vases, while they were working the bottle into shape. Just a theory.
Welcome aboard the good ship CW .
