One of a few string/yarn baskets I have, made by the Penobscot Tribe. It is made of Split Ash and twisted Sweet Grass. Parts have been dyed a blue/green but the color is not so vibrant on the outside. Really nice, this one stands at about 12 inches tall. These were made for the tourist trade mostly, to use to store yarn and/or string. The lid has a hole in the top so the string could be pulled through.
