Here is another string/yarn basket made by the Penobscot tribe, this one is skinnier than my other large string basket and stands at 14 inches tall. This one is dyed a nice orange and the color is still really vibrant on the outside. Both of my large string baskets were woven with Hong Kong Cord, a substitute for Sweet Grass braiding that made it's debut around 1925-1930. I do not usually collect baskets made with the Hong Kong Cording but I wanted a couple examples of the large string baskets. Thanks for looking.
