This is one of my six pieces of CASCADE stem glasses I've got (well, there are other big ones but I shouldn't use those to drink from unless I want to get really drunk).

Tis one stands 12 cm tall and amongst its main features Ishouldremark the contrast between the one blue line in that field of sand tones, as well as the white "seashell" formed inside the stem ball.

All CASCADE items are pretty unique and it's a huge pleasure to study the differences in each and everyone of them.

Hello Lovely! Are these marked somehow?
Almost reminds me of old marbles...the balls, not the statues. The same mesmerizing swirls.

As a matter of fact they usually are... this one is marked HG7 PL 2392, which means it belongs to a unika or special series (2392, according to Lütken's black book it was made in October/November 1970).

The small blue vase is signed HOLMEGAARD PL 2420 (December 1970), the very small glass is signed HG7 2414 (alsofrom December 1970), and the big bowl is signed just HG4 PL, which means is was produced in 1974. other pieces aren't signed at all.

That numeration on the undated pieces had always been a problem to me. The book was not available to me in the 80's. When was it published?

The book GLASS IS LIFE by Per Lütken himself, has copyright from 1986 (and in fact the last refferences it's got is about pieces made in November 1985). thebook itself is sort of a poetic display of his glass, but the reproduction of his note book at the end of it is priceless.

Thanks Scandi! Everything fine round here.

Mmmmm... I'm afraid I still haven't set up the photo set. I am guessing June 28th will be the day I start working seriously on the new pics. There's some very exciting new items I want to share, the koristepullo being just one of them.

They're actually really simple shapes, and I love the fact of Cascade items having thick and irregular walls with sometimes uneven, but soft, surfaces. Of course Lütken wasn't looking for perfection when designing the Cascade series: its value lays on the fact that the decoration is left to chance.

THANKS!!!! well, sometimes it happens I don't really remember if I read something on the internet in Spanish or in English :)

"the whole feeling and the choice of words and how it was written"... Mmmmmh!
I was once told I had a "sense for English"...
