I know that this unit is a much more recent vintage that what I usually collect, but the reason it's in my collection has less to do with my interest in radios and MORE to do with my affection for the '57 Chevy; especially in fire engine red! It's one of my all-time favorites of the 50's so naturally I had to have this radio. I've seen this unit in black and turquoise also. I don't know if any other colors were available or not. I would be interested to find out if any of you know. The cassette tape player is behind the V badge on the hood, the speakers are in the headlights. It uses LOTS of batteries or AC power. The trunk lid opens up to house the batteries, and when powered up, the parking lights come on. It's cute as the dickens.

Parenthetically, in this little Florida retirement community, where golf carts are legal on the city streets, we've seen several golf carts running around that ALSO are '57 Chevy look-alikes; a testament to the popularity of that iconic model.
