I also have a Brioni and have been trying to figure out what it is, where it came from, if it has any value. I salvaged it from a trash heap in Bowling Green, OH and am rebuilding it. It looks exactly like yours but is a womens' bike. I'm curious to see if anyone has some insight!
i also piched one out of a trash heap in westland mi. it is a candy apple red mens bike with a 3-speed rear hub, it has an original book carier on the back. It also says brioni and leisure craft products ltd, brioni new york. This is all we know and if you know anything else about it please email me at scottyschork@gmail.com. I am also willing to sell it, upon finding out how much it's worth. Thank you and God bless.
BRIONI is a brand of bicycle that comes from Yugoslavia . The brand survived the war unfortunately most of the bicycles did not due to the need for metal during the conflict . In later days of the company the bicycles were popular in there native land being the chosen form of transportation ,but again due to a poor econy and a rising cost on imports especially metal most were destroyed , they are very rare cycles to find but if you do happen upon one you will find that they are one of the most exquisite bicycles ever made . I have have had the pleasure of seeing two in my life time . In terms of worth , in mint condition a pre 70s bike can go for as much $10,000 in an auction setting perhaps more , even completely rusted out I would place a value of around 500$ because of the rarity and the fact that a collector could use it as a decritive conversation piece in there home .
I have one that a friend just cleaned up for me and put new tires on. I've actually had it since the late 80's or so and rode it all of the time then. Been in my garage for years. Single gear women's. I love it.
