I have just become aware of how lovely and sought after they are. Do I need to do anything special to protect them? I am still very naive and don't even know what type of ducks they are, curious to what their value is.

I can tell you that those are "Mallards", a type of duck. They are quite abundant in WI where I am from. (Not just there mind you), My Dad used to go duck hunting alot and he got quite a few. I cannot tell if these are actual decoys, or if they are novelties. Good luck!

They are strictly decorative and worth under $75.00 They are mass produced ,
not antique, yet. Very nicely done keep as an heirloom and it will gain value in future generations. I am a professional bird carver I make Florida collectible wading bird decoy sculptures.
