Found this at a garage sale and thought I'd see what anyone has to say or tell me about it. It's 2 separate pieces and the insert for holding the "bottles" and slots is removable. Has some pretty good weight to it. The trunk itself measures 32" long and 13 3/4 " high. Quite ornate with some detailed work. It needs a good cleaning and I've got a good friend that can get it looking pretty darn good. Anyone have any clues or information?
    Thanks

eye4beauty, you took the words right out of my mouth! When I saw the inserts, that's the first thing I thought too.

Thanks for the love all...you guys have some good ideas going on.
Would be nice if it did indeed come from a medicine show.
We'll see if anyone else comes up with some info.
      Thanks again

Here's my shot at a guess. Looks like a wine box with three holes for the bottles (or glasses) on each side and the space in between would be filled with straw and you would lay your best vintages down flat on it for display.
