Recently acquired this 1939 Salesman Sample / Order Book from David Lionel Press - It's like the 1930s version of a U-Line Catalog. Everything from Business Cards, to Gummed Labels, Order Books, Match Books and every tool, accessory and office equipment needed to use the printed products. It's a great look at 1930s Design, Printing, Letter Press and a wonderful reference for old timey advertisement opportunities. I'm obsessed! :)
love it - let's see some more inside images!
Hey Hunter! I love it too! Contextualizing its creation/use, at the end of the 1930s when the United States was still struggling out of the Depression, it really represents a sort of golden age in Advertising, not just stylistically, but on a real personal level. The guy who carried this around from business to business touting these products as a means for small business to finally start the process of expansion and growth after such a difficult period really resonates with me today, as a fellow Small Business owner. Love how these items can be so relevant in today's context! Anyhow, here's a link to some of the larger views!
