When I first started placing items on this site, I put multiple pics up on the same page and only showed one pic of each basket. I wanted to do some over so I could add more detailed pictures of them. Hope nobody minds.
This is one of my quill baskets, made around 1920. The design is either of a moose or a mule deer. The basket is made of Birch Bark, Sweet Grass and Porcupine Quill that have been dyed. It is about 5 and 1/2 inches in diameter and about 4 inches in height. Alot of work went into this one and the artist was skilled. I bought this one from Canada so I would guess the maker is Ojibwa. Hope you like the better detailed pictures.
This is absolutely gorgeous!!!
