This is a trivet basket, woven by a Inuit native in Alaska. It was woven using dyed sea grass, and was probably done around 1930. The colors are still vibrant although the bottom is better. It is 10 inches across and in height, very uniform. There is a piece at the top for hanging but it does not hang very well. I would not hang it up anyways as that is how they get damaged. This one is perfect still even after all this time. Enjoy the pics.
