The Hamilton Organ Company was established in 1889 and was named after it's founder Dwight Hamilton Baldwin. The Hamilton Organ Co was manufactured it's organ's in Chicago and a year later established the Bawdwin Piano Co in Cincinnati, Ohio. The organ in the photo I have owned for the past 27 years, it is made of quarter sawn oak.

We have the same organ, in a darker finish. It came with the house. Does yours play? Ours takes quite a bit of effort, so my guess is that it needs to be rebuilt.

Akp, Yes it plays and it does take some effort to pump. Sounds great when the bellows are full of air.

Ours plays as long as you long as you keep pumping, but goes silent when you stop. One of the local piano people here works on organs and he thinks it would be around $1000 to replace bellows etc. and seal everything on the inside, but then would be good for the next 100 years.

I had the organ completely worked over in 1976 at the tune of $500.00. It's still going strong 37 years later. We have a friend who is a professional organ player and he loves coming over and playing songs on our pump organ.

I just acquired an organ like this today. The only thing missing is the black cover where the Hamilton name is displayed. Is this the same organ or a repro? Like yours, mine was restored in 1976 in Nashville, TN. It has an electric silent suction unit which was installed at that time. I was wondering how to oil it.
