I have no idea what this foundry mold was used for, but i really love this one. it reminds me of 'alien' - something between industrial tech and organic. maybe this was a form for an early electrical switchboard of some kind. there's a date on it of 1926. it stands about 24" tall.

This is commonly called a pattern board. The mold is the cavity this makes in the sand and molten metal is poured. Hope I didn't sound to preachy.

not at all mrmajestic1. what do you think the final product was used for? i cleaned and brushed the aluminum pieces on this mold to make them stand out. it's hard to photograph, but it looks much better in person. very spinal!

It's really hard to tell what it is but maybe a guide or a part of a clamp.

hmmm... don't you think it might be of a switchboard or something like that?
