44 cal Italian Guardia Di Finanza. Guardia Di Finanza is the Financial Guard (police) in Italy. They served in both World Wars. In pic 2 pistol is marked V. Bernadelli Gardone RIP 1932. Most I can find is Bernadelli assembled thes after the war. Hex 6 in barrel and 6 shots with wood grips. In good condition for its age. Enjoy

Hey Chrisnp, just read your post. A great piece of info. I have never been able to date mine and still don't know what the rip 1932 means, but still researching
I was curious about "1932", so I did a little more reading:
Edward Ezell's Handguns of the World lists Bernadelli as a manufacturer, but says "Production of the 1889 revolver continued through the 1920s."
Ian Hogg's Encyclopedia of Infantry Weapons of World War II does not list Bernadelli as a manufacturer, but says "...indeed manufacture had continued well into the 1930s."
Personally, I think that by the 1930s, they were assembling the weapons rather than manufacturing them, but that's just a guess. I'm clueless about the RIP.
Thanks miKKo and kerry and again to Chrisnp for the aditional info. I am still looking and about to decide RIP does not have the same meaning that I am giving to it.
mine has the V.Bernardelli, gordone- modif. 1932 on the left side of receiver but has 1971 stamped on the right side between grip and cyclinder. any one give me any info on the date made and is the 1971 stamp possibly when it was maybe released from someone or from the guard?
