I kinda wanna know the value, i bought this at a yard sale. The wheels still work and its pretty cool. I've read that they are a nice find. I'm thinking its around 1946 or so. Thanks for any help i can get.
It might be 1940's or it could be as recent as 1960's. Being a good find is possible depending on what you actually have. They are fairly common and can go for $5 or $100. Research it with the markings, they will tell you the year pretty close. I wouldn't advertise it as an antique but it is vintage and collectible.
fhrjr2 hit the nail on the head with this one. It's too bad that they aren't worth as much (I've come across a few of them while out pickin'), but people still buy them either to fix up and use or display. Either way, it's a nice, relatively cheap, piece of mechanic history. Imagine the stories this creeper could tell about the cars it helped work on. :)
It is definitely pre 1960's as the name is diagonal - from the late 50s onward it was horzizontal. This is a classic creeper, which in excellent condition could be worth $100+ to the right buyer. A serious buyer is going to look for a nice patina and this unit looks like the varnish has worn off and is cracked a bit ... hard see see much in the photo. Roy Owen Hulbert was an innovator and made classic creepers, he also holds a number of patents from the 1930s onwards.
