These photo's are from the collection that my father received when his cousin passed away. The first photo is of her Grandmother taken in Keswick, UK, this photo would date prior to her emigrating to Canada in 1893. The second photo is of both of her Grandparents it was taken prior to 1905.
    Look closely at her outfit.

That's true mustangtony, they would have been amazed by the light bulb let alone instant communication around the world from your home. Her hands were probably to arthritic to attempt to button it again. Thanks for checking out my posting.

she does look a like the grumpy grandma in the photos i found. a comment above reminded me that 5 yrs ago, my pepere died. he and my memere had been married for 65 years. they were such a loving couple right to the end. after he died, my memere stopped eating and lost the will to live. it was hard to watch, but it was what she really wanted - to be reunited w/ pepere in heaven. i feel so blessed to have spent so much time w/ a very committed, loving family. that's pretty rare today.

Yes ho2cultcha, it is indeed rare, you were fortunate to have spent so much time with a loving family. I have been blessed in the same manner , I grew up with both sets of grandparents living near by (could see their houses from our yard). My parents had 65 years together, my wife & I celebrate 30 years married this summer.

Thanks Scott, I feel blessed to be the family archivist & have access to all these wonderful old photo,s & postcards. I have scanned over one thousand images & I'm not done yet, it is a little overwhelming at times but worth it in the end.

Thanks for the Love & the comment Scandi, I'll have to put that on my bucket list of places to visit if I ever get to England. I have more to post from photographers in that area.
