Well this little lamp is a mystery.... has anyone seen anything like it. I got this last week. It looked like Irish Dancers, but the more I looked, I'm not sure. It has the original cloth cord and plug. A glass round ball and metal finial. Has anyone seen anything like this?
Any guesses would be appreciated. It most likely came out of an estate.

asking a dumb question here, but when did lamps stop being wired with cloth ?

Now I'm thinking antique, vintage French Quimper Benton peasant dancers. . . 1920's - 1930's due to the deco style glass ball finial, cloth cord, and bakelite plug. No indication of maker:-((

Do you see Berggren written anywhere? This is what it reminds me of...

Hi - yes, I looked up Berggren and is does look similar. This lamp has the original cloth cord, and what looks like a bakelite plug. so I'm guessing somewhere around the 40's. . . . the man dancer looks to be wearing a sombrero. so this might me Mexican folk art festival . . . definately still a mystery. . .

Can't solve the mystery, but I can chime in! This looks like a lamp my parents had in the 60s, although I recall the coloring as being maroon, rather than green. They may have received it as a wedding present (early 1950s) or as a gift or hand-me-down when they moved from Orlando, FL to New Orleans, LA, about 1957-58.
I used to have the job of dusting it (& other things) when I was a child! We moved to Texas in 1968, & I do not remember seeing it from that point on--but have often wished they'd kept it. Give it a pat on the head from me!

Hi - thanks for the comment:-) I'll give it a pat too!

I ran across something a few months ago. It kind of reminds me of
antique french breton dancing peasants. I think it might date to the 20's or the 30's due to the deco ball finial, the cloth cord, and the bakelite cord plug.

Have you ever figured this out? I posted one similar about a week ago!
