I found this in an old jewelry box from my grandmother's attic. It's not a precious metal, at least it certainly doesn't look like one, but I love it! It's about a 17" neck opening. The pendant is about 1 1/2 inches long. There is a mark on the clasp, but I have NO idea what it could be. I feel certain that someone familiar with jewelry of this kind would recognize it though. I put it up two different ways so hopefully it's viewable. I can't make heads or tails of it! How old is this necklace and does anyone know who made it?? What do you call this style/period of necklace?
miKKo and Manikin, thanks for the love!
Looks like a Czech piece, possibly Austria? Very pretty!
Thank you, vinatagemad. I'll have to check out some sites for pieces from those countries! May I ask if it was the mark that gives you that impression or the design? I am extremely ignorant of vintage jewelry information so I would like to know if I should search czech and austrian marks or just styles. I don't even know for sure if the large piece in the center is called a pendant or what! *LOL* But I'd certainly like to learn more. I appreciate you taking the time to comment. :-)
Thank you, bratjdd. I'm still hoping to find more about the marking on it.
Thanks for the love BELLIN68, nsvmom, bratjdd, jimborasco, officialfuel, thriftfan, and most recently MrsAR8Jason. I apologize for the being late with the thanks. As always, they are greatly appreciated. :-)
