I love this clock, and all I know about this piece is that it's made by The Sessions Clock Co. I've tried to find out what it's worth, not to sell, just out of curiosity. When I open the back, it looks like the inside of a grandfather clock, it's so cool. There's a little weight with an S embossed on it on the inside, and a little key I don't know what to do with. I put the weight on the hook, and it seems to do its pendulum thing quite well. Obviously, I am no expert on clocks in any which way, but I do know that this clock is lovely, and am just curious about what I have. My aunt tried to sell it a few years back and I wouldn't let her, so she gave it to me. Any help would be awesome! Thanks guys:)
Hi,
There were a LOT of different black mantel clock models manufactured, even within the same company.
In order to help identify your clock, please provide the following:
Any and all information printed, stamped or labeled on the dial, movement, case and pendulum. This includes names, trademarks, serial/model/patent numbers and dates.
Measurements of the dial and case. Please take measurements at the longest, widest, and deepest points only.
Well lit photos of the entire case, with close-ups of the dial, movement and any distinctive decorative feature(s) or labels. (Side ornaments varied slightly between some models)
Please note if the case appears to have a simulated or "faux" finish. It's probably black enamel paint on wood, but we can't be certain at this point.
This information will be very helpful, but it still may not lead to a definitive model or date.
Also, you have this categorized as a weight driven clock. I can tell you that it is powered by two mainsprings, not weights. You should re-categorize it to Sessions/Mantel.

I really appreciate it, this site is awesome!!! It's great to have complete strangers look at something you have and give feedback like this!!! Thanks again, you'll hear back from me soon:)
You're very welcome Tifferific. I'll watch for your info! :)
