purchased second hand in 1978. in 1980 i bought the polaroid sx 70 alpha 1 second hand-sold in 1983. i kept the 340 as you could use the fast 3000 asa black and white film with a negative.

You put your finger under the front cover of the camera at the top and then lift upwards at the same time pull cover towards you.
