I got this Sears and Roebuck 16' Telescoping Rod with built in Reel from my ex-wife's deceased father's baesment over 25 years ago. It has never been used and has hung on my fishing pole rack in the garage ever since. Cleaning my garage the other day, I for some reason took an interest in it! I cannot seem to locate any information about it online, so can anyone help? How old is this pole, what did it cost brand new, how many years did Sears sell this pole and how many did they make?
Did you ever find your answer to this? I recently just ran into one of these and cannot find anything besides this post about this exact Rod & Reel.
Sears archives are available for free online including their old catalogs.
@fhrjr2,
Not asking for hand-outs, Asking because I could not even find the free online catalog... maybe your Google fu is far superior ..... idk ,.. I simply just could not find anything about it...JS ???????
The archives at Duke Univ are free to research but you need to register and agree to copyright info. The link below covers sears archives from 1910 - 1994. Your item should be there somewhere.

Thank you!
If you search on the reel you will find them all over the Internet. One site puts them at 30 years old and worth $10 to $15 in original box in good shape. Lots of info out there just keep changing your search string and you will find what you need.
