I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this panel of mine, there are actually two of them, I have one and my sister has the other. This has been handed down in our family to the youngest daughter for many generations, however I don't know how many but I think it originally came over on a ship with family. After my mom passed away and it sat in the cedar chest for 30 years my sister and I carefully took the thread holding the two pieces together and she took one to her house and I have the other. We still have the thread that came out in one piece. Any way just curious if anyone has any history they could share. thank you

It is very beautiful. I don't know anything about it unfortunately but when I look at I am reminded of British and Persian/Arab designs. A very lovely treasure to have in your family.

Have you tried looking through old textile books at library?

Hi. Could you tell us more about the textile itself? Is the pattern printed, woven-in, or embroidered? Is it wool, cotton, linen or something else? What is the size? Is it heavy or lightweight? From the picture it looks like it is longer on the top than on the bottom....has it been cut off? How about down the sides....does it look like they are the finished edge of the fabric or are they rough as if it has been cut lengthwise? A few closeup images as well as one of the back would help greatly in the identification of this interesting textile. Thanks and good luck.
