Mohair long armed hump back teddy bear made prior to 1920- So he dates from 1903-1915 . He has all the desirable qualities to make for a great bear and one one the type collectors love . He has shoe button eyes used till 1920. he has long arms a hump on his back ,felt paws , a silk thread long nose and is wonderful .Now for maker . Let me look at my books . Does he have black thread on paws to make toes and look separate ? I have a few makers in mind . Look at his ear good to see if there was a metal button in it , you maybe be able to see a hole . What is fabric ears are made of on inside is it a silky material or more rough ? We are getting there :-)

Your antique teddy bear with nose stitched 2 colors black and tan floss nose was done by Bing for one . The nose color will be key to Id him . I have not ruled out stieff or Bruin
Gerbrüder Bing of Nuremburg started making teddy bears and mechanical animals circa 1906-1907. They originally were designed by a famous animal painter, Kunz Weidlich, who emphasized the importance of looking lifelike. Bing employed nearly 10,000 toy makers in 1910, making it the largest in the world, by far. Of Jewish-German heritage, Bing eventually was forced into bankruptcy in 1932, but the company left a legacy of some of the finest bears and toys ever made. The quality and detail of these bears make them very sought after . of coarse condition plays a role also . I will keep working on him .

Thanks for your comments, OldToyCollector! So, is he a Steiff or Ideal?
