I recently acquired this knife which is soundly built. The actual handle appears to be made of "bone". Heavy (5 ounces) and very tight. On the blade is "Compass" and the other side is Pakistan Stainless Steel. I am looking for information on this knife as it appears vintage and I can't find a single similar item. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Gary

I figured the blade out when I tried to sharpen it. It just seemed like such a find, with the design and bone handle. Oh well. Back to searching.... Thanks much.

I actually own this same knife. I Googled it(the knife) exactly as you explained it and found your post. I too found my knife not from a dealer but at a yard sale, 3 bucks. It seems as you say. Good blade, well made, heavy and has good balance. My "bone" handle is missing a small piece in the right lower part by the last rivet of the right side of the handle. Not sure if it is bone. I too could use more info.

Found this knife while cleaning out my inlaw's house. The knife was in basically new condition in the leather sheath in the original box. Specifications: blade length - 3-7/8", handle length - 5", Nicole silver bolsters, genuine 2nd cut stag handle, surgical steel blade, genuine leather sheath. End of box has 2220 Compass Folding Hunter, Made in Pakistan. My father in law died in 1999, and who knows when he got it. I've no idea of the age of this knife.

This was probably made by Pakistan Cutlery Co. I believe I have two of their folding knives and one fixed blade. They were quite popular in the late 1980's. They were inexpensive then and have little or no value today because they flooded the market with them.

That should be "nickel" silver - not "Nicole" silver. Sometimes I hate autocorrect. I wish I could have posted pics of the knife, sheath and box.

You can post four pictures or open a new post. Not really a need to but you can do it.
