We own a 1906 hall clock with the name Daniel Pratt’s Son on its face. Our beautiful mahogany cased clock stands 7’10” to it’s peak. It has 6 silver in appearance, tube chimes and 3 brass covered lead weights, one at 25#, one at 13# and one at 12#. The door and sides are beveled glass.We purchased it in Manchester NH in 1963 while in the US air Force, after I found it standing and not working, at a very old hotel. I was able to replace the cloth backing (behind the weights and pendulum), new weight cables, replaced one missing pulley, re-padded the strikers, lubricated and polished everything. It now stands working beautifully as it has since 1963 in our home. We have relocated 5 times since then and have moved our clock with us each time and it STILL keeps excellent time. My wife says that I go before the clock. She loves it more than me, I guess!
On one of our moves we literally had to cut a hole in the floor to accommodate it as it was too tall! With it supported by a steel post from the basement, it stood boldly for 4 years. When it was time to move again, we removed it from the hole, replaced the piece of floor and the carpet where it stood.
Beautiful clock. I love these classic case designs. I'm sure that it sounds as good as it looks with that large, resonant case. How many tubular bells does it use?
You should add a secondary category of "Grandfather Clocks" as well as Weight Driven. Wouldn't want someone searching on Grandfathers to miss this beauty! :)

Thank you for the positive comment. I edited my profile page for "grandfather Clocks" but, the page does not seem to allow that in addition to "weight driven". Not sure how to do that.
It is set to chime each quarter hour on 6 tubes, 24-7. When I awake in the middle of the night, I listen for it to chime to let me know the time. Unfortunately, the first sound I hear most times, is the quarter hour. So, I lay awake another 45 minutes waiting for the hour strike. I'm too groggy or lazy to roll over and press the button on my nightstand clock!

You're most welcome. Thanks again for sharing it! That's an unusual number of bells. What chime melody (or melodies) does it play for you? Are there any stamps or information on the movement? Is the hourly strike on one bell, or is it a chord?
As far as a secondary category, you have to reset it anytime you edit your post because it will default to "null". Add a secondary Clocks->Weight Driven in addition to your Clocks->Grandfather, then save and look at your post normally.
