I picked up this little beauty from a guy that got it from his grandfather who passed away. He stated he thought it was sperm whale ivory? and thats about all he could tellme. I was told it was whale ivory which i assume is spern whale teeth? It has Buck 525+ on it with the scrimshaw. Scooner or Whale Ship with Light House And Harpoon with the initial JL? I reasearched some on internet and could not find scrimscaw with JL initials. If anyone has any information or an estimated value that they could share with me it would be greatly appreciated. IT is alot thicker than the regular 525 because of the silver liner.
