      Hi,
A picture of the back of the watch and inside of the back cover would be helpful. This would show any gold marks if any. It looks gold-filled from what I can see. I believe part of the ratchet, winding wheel is missing. Hands and a new crystal would be very easy to find at a resonable price. If the staff is good, it would be worth fixing as a keepsake. Any old time watchmaker can help you with this.
      Good Luck,

      Jim

thisoldwatch, so you think the pictures are getting harder to see well in this new format or is it just me?? I was able to download the first one with the hallmark on it and enlarge it and tweak it a bit. It's appears to be the bear (or what some call a dancing dog) that is a swiss sterling hallmark. I don't know watches, but I have a little bit of knowledge (dangerous!) of silver. So put that with what thisoldwatch said and it's most likely gold plated silver. thisoldwatch knows watches. :-) There are others quite similar on this site if you care to look around a bit.
thisoldwatch, do you think the pictures are getting harder to see well in this new format or is it just me?? I was able to 'grab' the first one with the hallmark on it and enlarge it and tweak it a bit. I don't like that they can't be enlarged anymore! *ggrr*
