I have posted a few photos to illustrate the glass design "Twisted" Verre Moiré" aka: "Twisted Nailsea" and Clarke's model 212 fairy lamp, c. 1890. The shade second from the left. clearly shows the glass design. The catalog page in the center illustrates Clarke's model 212 in the same pattern with a matching "floral bowl." The right example illustrates the more common "Nailsea-type" in a common blue color.

These "bowls" were used as fairy lamp bases to hold floral arrangements. Moss was placed in the bottom of the bowl and flowers were inserted into it. Of course, not many modern day fairy lamp collectors use the design in that manner today.

The first photo belongs to a friend of mine. It took him many years to find the matching base.

    Jim.

So, inky, now you need to find the other two matching pieces! Good luck! I reckon it's a definite possibility.

Vetraio 50....you think maybe in Vinny's?....Can't imagine how beautiful they would have looked with the moss and flowers in the bottom and then light up. Just the bowl alone is sooooo! beautiful........:-)
