This is one Heavy peice of redwood. About 1 1/2" thick & 6' long! I seen this at a flea-market in the back of the sellers truck. Asked him how much he wanted for it. he said 125, & I got it for a 100 dollar bill 12 years ago! It's drilled & dowled together.....I Love it!! Haaay (amazinghome) this would match-up great with your nice wall clock that U posted on here awhile back!!!
Thanks for lookin!
Beautiful!
My grand mother has a table she had shipped over from Africa years and years ago. Maybe 2 1/2f. by 4f. All hand carved elephants and people, big village scene.
Wish I had pictures to show you.
Beautiful table you have.Always liked these, always wanted one,But No! And I don't have a wall clock either.
Thanks for sharing
That looks like one of the tables I made back in the early 80's. I wish I had signed my work!
Theirs no way to trace it back, But if you have made them before, U do Awsome work... I wish U have signed it too....I had a woodshop too, & I signed all my work> jsw & the year it was made......I don't have a prob tellin everybody that U made this... Do U?
Ditto. GREAT WORK.
I don't have a problem with it, lol...I can't be 100% sure though. I made several pieces; tables, chairs, planters, clocks, etc. I guess I never considered myself an artisan so the thought of signing my work wasn't important at the time. It was a phase I went through that ended when the truckload of lace-burl redwood ran out.
Ok, I've been studying on these pics and I do recognize this as one of mine. I remember thinking at the time that the narrow end sloped a bit and considered chopping it off but it was too interesting to part with and would have ruined the flow of the piece. I'm glad it's found a good home, and you got a great price on it too!
LOL I hear ya....OK, 99 1/2% then. At least I'll have a name to go with it...
WOW, 100%......Now I need a name to go with it....Email me at>jack_cathy@bellsouth.net..... If ya don't want to put your name on here...OK?
small world!
No kidding, Viking....awesome small world! :-)
It's funny that you mentioned the matching clock. When my grandfather passed, he left a clock to my brother. My mother also has one & the matching table is still at my grandmother's house. I've also always loved them. Very cool!
My day car lady had one of these. Her son fell and cracked his head on it... very pretty piece
