This is one Heavy peice of redwood. About 1 1/2" thick & 6' long! I seen this at a flea-market in the back of the sellers truck. Asked him how much he wanted for it. he said 125, & I got it for a 100 dollar bill 12 years ago! It's drilled & dowled together.....I Love it!! Beautiful!
My grand mother has a table she had shipped over from Africa years and years ago. Maybe 2 1/2f. by 4f. All hand carved elephants and people, big village scene.
Wish I had pictures to show you.
Beautiful table you have.Always liked these, always wanted one,But No! And I don't have a wall clock either.
      Thanks for sharing

That looks like one of the tables I made back in the early 80's. I wish I had signed my work!

      Ditto. GREAT WORK.

I don't have a problem with it, lol...I can't be 100% sure though. I made several pieces; tables, chairs, planters, clocks, etc. I guess I never considered myself an artisan so the thought of signing my work wasn't important at the time. It was a phase I went through that ended when the truckload of lace-burl redwood ran out.

Ok, I've been studying on these pics and I do recognize this as one of mine. I remember thinking at the time that the narrow end sloped a bit and considered chopping it off but it was too interesting to part with and would have ruined the flow of the piece. I'm glad it's found a good home, and you got a great price on it too!

It's funny that you mentioned the matching clock. When my grandfather passed, he left a clock to my brother. My mother also has one & the matching table is still at my grandmother's house. I've also always loved them. Very cool!
