It's difficult to do justice to items with 4 photos especially when one isn't a good photographer. Hope you can see these.
This is such a nice bracelet that I originally thought was love tokens but it is made of eight very early 3 Pence coins. The coins are 0.925 silver. The dates are 1899, 1905, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918, and 1919.
There are no holes in the coins. A small hoop has been added to each coin in order to connect with a link. The latch is simply a long pin hoop. This type of bracelet isn't necessarily rare in the Numismatic world but it's unique to the average person.
I always appreciate any information or comments. I am no expert just an admirer.
Nice that the coins were not damaged with holes. Unique in the setting of the coins. I've seen several bracelet made of old silver, but sadly most have defaced the coins on one side and had their name or such engraved on the silver. Really like this piece. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for looking!
I agree completely. Of course, millions of coins were made into Love Tokens of various types. This was just what they did I guess. Apparently, it was meaningful in the culture of the time. I would never sell them for melt. Usually, something like this sells for more than melt but I prefer not to part with special items of jewelry. They make very special gifts to loved ones or I just hang onto them. Thanks for writing!
