My parents found this chair in an old one-room schoolhouse in central PA. They had it re-upholstered and we loved it as kids. It was originally (when we got it) painted or stained with a very dark mahogonay finish. In the late 1990's they gave the chair to me. I had it stripped to the original wood, which we believe to be ash wood, and reupholstered in a floral print which I thought complemented the wood color. I'm just curious about anything anyone can surmise about the style and era.
The wood has been stripped but was stained by the paint or whatever was used on it so it maintains the reddish hue. I chose the floral print because I thought it looked like what would have been used at the time the chair was made. Not that I know, but I thought it looked good with the wood color.
I appreciate all the feedback I've gotten. Someone once told me it looked like a Chippendale, but I don't know antiques.
Looking for a chair like this. Any ideas where I could get one. Is yours for sale? Thanks.

I would consider selling this chair, but am more interested in finding out more information about it. I was once told it's a Chippendale. (?)
My neighbor has a chair almost identical. I'm not sure how she came to have it, but I think it's been in the family for a long time. She has no interest in selling it.
