Found this at a thrift store today, and I have no idea of what it is. Well, I know it's a lamp, but what is it used for, how old is it, and is it worth anything. My girlfriend bought it because of the lovely box it came in.

My guess is that it is a German tanning lamp. Belmag makes tanning lamps and the voltage and hertz are European. High wattage would suggest that it is for tanning. I hope this helps.

Thanks! Funny thing is, it looks like it's made for travel. Who bring a tanning lamp on a vacation? And how do you use it? It doesn't seem to have a handle. Shape and color should be 50s right?
