My brother and I found this rare item at a persons house that we were looking through for old and unique items to buy. We found this and had to have it! It has the little rascals/our gang as the main picture and then has bugs bunny, mickey mouse, bugs bunny, engraved in it as well. Also, it says "now in color". I have searched and searched and found different years of when the little rascals first were publicly shown, and also when the studios sold items from this series at auction. Also have checked different printing companies at the time that this was showing in theaters and have found nothing. I have talked to a few different antique dealers and they thought that this was marketing material sent with the film to different theaters to give to the printing companies of the city being shown. As you can see in the picture there is a indented spot where it looks like something is missing. I was told that at each place that this show was to be marketed they would fill that space in with the city of where they were playing this in theaters.
If anyone has any other information, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Hi again getamobile, This is a neat piece, do me a small favor and put a little ink on it and press a piece of printer on it and post picture of the print. I believe it might shed a little insight of the piece.
If you need something other than ink, lay the block on a table, use some red kool-aid (not fruit juices or anything with an acid ) mixed up with a little water. Lightly put on the block , then place paper on block and roll the back side with something around the house, rolling pin would be the best, spray can will work.
Ok, I was worried about doing that with this. I didn't know if that was a good idea or not. I will definitely try that, and see what hapens. I have looked in the mirror and wrote down what it says. It's really interesting. I have found that this was all the way back to the Hal Roach Studios. That was in the 1930's. I will definitely get this picture added today. Thanks for writing again.
If your worried about using anything on it, that's understandable. do a small piece at a time, use a non-permanet marker(sharpie) and post a frame at a time.
I tried to do it without the ink, and it didn't turn out right. I will have to get a roller and see if that will do the job. Thank you again for writing.
I did it with Photoshop, and it's awesome! If you would like to see my image, send me an email:
