Another lonely piece. As I've said before, most of these are one of a kinds in my collection. I loved the shape and colors on this one, especially the light tan or beige along the edging...even though there isn't any blue, it's got roses! :-) To me, it looks like an R S Prussia piece, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it. It has some transfer work, but is hand painted over that that gives a real depth to the roses. There are some losses, especially the green on one of the 'drape lines' but not a ding, chip, or crack. This one is about 9 inches wide. The 'ring' on the back also makes me think Prussia, but I'd like to hear your opinions. If you have any information on maker and/or age, I'd appreciate hearing it! Thanks for taking the time to look at my little plate.

Might be! Hadn't thought of that one. I'll have to check that out. I have a 12 place service of theirs, "The Dundee" that does have a similar rose in the center, but the porcelain itself is much more delicate than this particular piece. I'm not that familiar with their earlier work, but I'll certainly do some research. Thanks for the input. :-)

Beautiful plates are a funny thing to me, originally made to put food on and eat off of, but who could cover such a wonderful item.

I love anything with roses. My moms name was Rose and she was the most sweetest and beautiful lady.

hi margaret -- glad you and the family are on the road to recovery
i love this piece -- i found a good website for fakes -- i know this one does not have the stamp -- was doing some research for myself on a trinket box that had the stamp -- but it was a fake -- as luck would have it i only paid a couple of bucks -- perhaps you are already aware of the site -- but here it is just in case

Thanks for the link and the comments, epson. This plate belonged to my paternal grandmother who died before I was born. I've always thought it was pretty.. the shape and the design. I already spied your etui and LOVED it! :-)
