My mom and I are cleaning out the attic trying to identify old dishes. This set belonged to her Aunt Hattie who was born in the late 1800's. We believe the dishes where handed down from Hattie's grandmother but have no other details. We've looked through the pieces for identification and can't find any. Does anyone recognize this pattern?

What a pretty piece! I'm afraid I don't recognize it right off. You say there are dishes that go with this. Can you possibly post a picture of a plate/butter dish? Sometimes the patterns are much easier to identify from that than from a bowl/cup or other serving piece. So there are no markings at all on the bottoms of these dishes?? Sometimes impressed marks are SO hard to see. It's sad when you try to ID a pattern and there is nothing to go by except the pattern. I love the way it almost has the look of a reverse jasper ware in a willow-ish design! I'll be anxious to see what you can find out about these too. :-)

What an unusual pattern!! It's really quite pretty and I bet the pictures don't do it justice. So, there aren't ANY letter, numbers or marks, either stamped or impressed on the backs of any of the pieces?? Don't you just hate that!? I'll look at some references and see if I can come up with anything for you, but you might need to email pictures to replacements dot com. I don't know if you're familiar with them, but they provide a free pattern ID for crystal, silver and dinnerware. While not always 100% correct, they will often at least get you started on the right path. Good luck in your search for your pattern and maker! :-)
