    How old could this piece be ? I would guess it is not hand painted, I'm not sure it is a matchbox holder, what do you think ? my mom thinks it's for holy water :)

      Hi, Deanteaks! It's hard to say if it's entirely handpainted. I really can't see very well. Some elements could be transfers, but it looks as if at least some of it is hand-painted here - observe the brush strokes on the grasses. Perhaps all of it is. Royal Bayreuth produced beautiful, quality pieces. I am rather fond of the tomato set, and a black cat cream pitcher!!!! - both old pieces. I've never seen your piece. So glad you have it! miKKo
