I picked up this large mixing bowl at an antique store in Petaluma around 25 years ago. I don't think i've ever seen such a beautiful mixing bowl in my life, and it gets a lot of comments from people who see it on my mom's table in vermont. I think that it's an 'end of day' piece, but i don't really know anything about it. what do you all think?
Pacific Pottery blended glaze mixing bowl.
It's not end of day, it's a production glaze. If you have access to the Snyder Pacific text, there's a set of six nesting bowls in that glaze shown on page 47.
BTW, according to the text the #9 bowl was the largest size produced. Book gives that size the highest value at $225.
Super, super colours!....:-)
Keep the cake mix--give me the bowl!!!! It's gorgeous!
i'd buy another one in a heartbeat for $225, but i've never seen one for sale. i'd love to find the other sizes too.
thank you art.pottery for that info - very interesting. i'd love to find more of it. i noticed a lot of books by snyder. is it called Pacific Pottery?
Fabulous!
Yes, book title is Pacific Pottery, published by Schiffer
thank you art.pottery. i really love the blended glaze pieces i've seen - particularly the colors in this bowl. it's always a show-stopper at my folk's house - and they have a lot of those!
