Well I haven't been on the hunt for a couple of weeks now. I had the shakes...well you all know. Anyway I hit up two of my favorite thrifts on my way home yesterday...SCORE!
I have seen the Dansk Spiral Chrome Candle holder designed by Bertil Vallien on various sites I like to look at. I am sure I have walked right by these before without a glance. This time however, although it was tangled and knotted in all the "metals" area, I knew right away.
Does anyone have a good handle on the various Dansk productions? I see Dansk Japan, Taiwan, Sweden and who knows how many more. This one is Dansk Japan.
I also found this super cool...I love it so much...Nybro Candle holder. Almost looks like an Olympic Torch. I did find it's twin but it was broken in half. (Ok am I the only one who gets a little sad at that? Broken up family)
I haven't been able to find this yet but did find another mystery piece of mine while on the hunt. Will update that post.
Finally my 90 cent Kosta Boda Songbird vase. She was very dirty when I picked her up and I did a double take on the signature. I do not like this piece (friends speak now and she is yours) but as you know I can't leave anything to the mercy of the thrift.

As for DANSK, I've got France and Denmark too, and another Asian country (cannot remember... Indonesia or Singapore?) I'll check them out tomorrow at home :)

Well Austro it doesn't happen everyday. I probably go in 20 times before one good pick. I am interested in your ideas of Dansk manufacturing.
I am a super softy breaking up 'families" I sometimes get sniffy, especially with the old stuff because I know they have been together for so long. I know Dork!

Hey babe! Came shiny. Typically I use use chrome cleaner but a smart and good friend of mine uses aluminum foil and regular cokeacola. Swears it works perfectly. He does a lot of the furniture picks. Uses it on 50s bar stools etc.
