This set of includes a mother and her three children. I was told they were African and very old. I cannot make out the material, but definately handmade. Previously owned by family that came over on the Mayflower and that is all I know. Please help me to identify.
These are native american dolls, representing the Seminole tribe from Florida. Made of palmetto fiber husk and cloth.
Are you interested in selling these dolls? If so, how much?
I love your site national. I have never seen a site dedicated to these dolls. You need to do a book on these dolls. It's such a vast subject as these dolls have been around forever, but not usually collected on such a scale! You really should think about it! Doll books in general only touch on these dolls.
Oh yes, I do want to do a book! I have been thinking about that for a long time now but have not yet started. It certainly is something I would like to realize.
One is needed that is for sure!
