This is a wonderful example of Loetz Medici (Phanomen Gre-2/284, Loetz.com). I bought it a few years ago on ebay, and it was sold with very poor photos (sorry if you took them). But I took the chance and WOW! I'm glad I did! This shows how you have to go beyond the poor photography sometimes and imagine what the item really looks like. Of course it would be better for everyone if everybody could take pictures like these; but then again not everyone has a $2000 camera and 40 years of photography experience (like me). The moral of the story is great items deserve great photographs! Would you show up at a fashion-shoot with a cell phone? Can you sell a "Mona Lisa" with one crappy photograph? Some seem to think you can. It did work in this case, so what am I talking about?

Your photos are very nice. They show the true colors that are exhibited in a Loetz Medici in spreading chestnut. Photography is truly in the eyes of the beholder. Some photographers are happy with their fuzzy photos while others have expensive equipment & lighting and supersaturate the colors & iridescence so that the vase just screams at you. I prefer photos that bring out the natural colors and highlights in Loetz like yours do. Nice vase too!

Thanks, I try to make my photos as crisp and accurate as possible, which is also why I use a neutral background (white or black) so the colors aren't shifted and altered. Sometimes I use a mixture of natural light (from the window) and flash, which also can bring out the true colors without making them too "hot". I love the way these pics turned out, and this vase really needs serious effort because the real colors are so vivid and spectacular. No embellishment needed here; just the truth.
