I bought this watch at a pawn shop auction a year ago. It is a beautiful watch (the pictures do no justice), but I am curious about model/year, and would be grateful for any input. Not even sure if it is gold or gold plated.

There are no engravings on the back (see picture). I could (and should) get a watchman to open it up and look inside, but lets try this first.

The style of the case and hands I would guess late 50's early 60'. Opening the back would give you a lot more info to research. The movement # and serial # would closer identify date and quality of the jeweled works inside. Inside the back case is where many solid gold stamps are found. However many are rolled gold plated finishes. Any reputable watchman could open this and give you a very close date and value of the watch. Best regards, Tony.
