Yes; when I say "monumental" I mean Earth moving. This wonderful Rookwood masterpiece has hand-thrown grooves and rose-bud moves that are well above the average CST creation. Charles Stewart Todd was on his game in 1917 when he made this pot, and it has the best raspberry-red and grass-green matt glazes I have ever seen on any piece of art pottery. This is interesting; when comparing this huge (13") beautiful vase with the average CS Todd vase, which may not have been the top of the stack. But if you have the best piece by any artist it must be significant, wouldn't you think? This is one of my favorite pieces of American art pottery, and I have never seen its' equal. Enjoy!

It looks like Southwest American of recent vintage (within the last 30 years or so) but other than that I don't recognize it. Thanks! Dan
