Can anyone help me identify the year and/or manufacturer of this beautiful dresser? I have turned the piece inside & out looking for some kind of marking or name that would help & have been unsuccessful. I was curious about finding whether it may have been part of a set. I would love to find other pieces that match. I purchased a mirror with piece but, quite sure it doesn't belong. It also had wheels which were removed. Anyway, I believe it has to be the most unique dresser I've ever seen & just love it.
I could tell you what you have but you wouldn't appreciate it.
I could possibly appreciate your knowledge if it were shared. However, these type of comments give the impression of a wanna be!!!!!
Hi Ride88. I'm not that familiar with this style, but I'm going to take a stab at it. If nothing else, someone will come by and set me straight. :-)
I'm going with, let's say.. 1930's-1940's? The picture isn't very clear, but it looks like mahogany or cherry veneer drawers, with a burled maple veneer medallion at the center of the drawers. The legs are queen anne style. More can be told about the age by looking at how the drawers are joined. Also the bail pulls on the drawers can help date it also. Just from your photo, I'd say they are probably original to the piece. Sorry I can't help you more! :-)
Thank you for your comments. The drawers are joined with a dovetail joint that does not seem to be real consistent. I also thought the drawer pulls were original.
