Maybe its not in the art decco style, but it is cool! Seems like i can (kinda) remember fans like these in elementary school. You know, back when the teachers gave swats, dodgeball broken bones, the good old days. Before bureaucracy took all the fun out of being a kid. I can't really understand why they would quit using these fans, I mean, what first grader wouldn't want to stick his fingers in those grates. This ones, getting cleaned up and painted. Ill post pics of it next week when it's done. The fan works and is quiet and well-balanced. In picture two you see the cone shaped panel that helps direct the air into a 360° "cooling zone". Then you put the (removable) top on that & youve got a table. I'm switching things up this time, and ending with something different. "We too often loves things and use people when we should be using things and loving people" ----Reuel Howe

Nostalgia strikes again! I can remember having one of these in my bedroom as a child. It was brown and tan but other than that, looked just like this one. Funny about the finger in the fan comment.. even at my age, I still have to really fight the urge to stick my finger in a fan for some reason. :•} I love your Reuel Howe quote. Sobering but too often true.

You're very welcome, mikie! And you're right. The people that I remember most fondly and miss the most are the ones that managed to do just that. You need to keep your eye on the prize, but it has to be the right prize. :-)
Some of the (professional/financial advancement vs. time with family) choices that I've made in my life were often questioned by my father. He was one who, for most of his life thought 'he who dies with the most toys wins'. A few months before he passed away, he told me, "You know honey, I was wrong about what matters while we're here."

china, sorry this one slipped threw the cracks, because all my laughs & jokes aside, this conversation is the ONE that matters most to me. Thats because my dad is 90 yrs. old, not doing so good either, and sounds JUST LIKE YOUR DAD. But he has'nt seen the light like yours did, hope there's still time. He put family second, or third, building his empire was ALWAYS first. Its hard to complain, he did a good job, but we would have been fine either way. I could think of many things i would have loved to do with him (when he could) now im just trying to do what we can now. THANK YOU CHINA.
