The 1912 edition The sinking of the Titanic is not a uncommon book, but my copy is signed by Edwina Celia Troutt MacKenzie. Winnie as our family called her was at one time the oldest living Titanic survivor until her death in 1984 at the age of 100 years and six months. The second book is signed by two Titanic survivors Ruth E Becker Blanchard, Edwina C Troutt Mackenzie, and by the author Rustie Brown. Edwina became a part of our family when she married her second husband James Corrigan in 1955.

blair,I pretty well know Edwina Troutt's history since she was part of my family from 1955 until she died in 1984. I don't know alot about Ruth Becker Blanchard,
She was a friend of Winnie's for many years.

My Father was Edwina (winnie) third husband. James Mackenzie. They married in California and I lived in Michigan. They came on their honeymoon to Detroit in 1963 to visit me and my Children. I was able to visit them several times in California. We became just like Mother and Daughter as the years went on. My Family, Husband, Childen, Grandaughter, my Brother a his children attended Winnie's 100th Birthday in California .
Looking forward to the Titanic display here in Grand Rapids, MIchagan November 2012
Did you know why she didn't drown? She was a Trout.

Beverly, I knew your father when he married Winnie, they use to come over to my Aunt Genevieve house for dinner. Aunt Genevieve's father James Corrigan was Winnie's second husband. I was at Winnie's 100th birthday party that's when her and Ruth signed the second book.

As you might have heard on T.V. yesterday was the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic.

Pretty cool book -- I met someone who was on the Titanic, believe it or not. Her father was a boilerman who helped build the ship and he gave her a tour of it when she was a young girl before its ill fated voyage. Incredible signature in it. Thanks for the post.
