Love it! Although the face does look more like a boy I say its a girl, because it looks like a dress with ruffles and a doll in her hand.
This is magnificent and hauntingly beautiful. Is there any provenance? Do you think that this is a mourning brooch? miKKo
I do not think it is a mourning cameo I think it is a portrait cameo before pictures
beautiful ! it could be a boy they did wear dress's at that time . What a treasure to have :-)
Mani your right again. I guess they did wear dresses back than. I first thought it was a doll in his hand. I just took a closer look and it looks like some kind of scarf.
