So this is this week's second piece of Kralik. It's a beautiful bright red vase flashed all over with a delicate, iris-like iridescence. The flashing, as with the iris pieces, makes it very hard to photograph adequately.
The glass is thin and lightweight, only one layer, with a black applied foot and a cut and polished rim. There is no iridescence or flashing on the foot. The whole vase is just shy of 8" tall.
The foot carries an original silver paper Kralik label - apologies for the photograph, I can't seem to do better. Underneath the foot, there is the two-line acid etched provenance mark, carrying the French spelling of Czechoslovakia, that is generally associated with Kralik pieces, although not in itself definitively Kralik, as all the experts on CW will tell you.
For me, this one ticks all the boxes. Hurrah!
Thank you Sean! Getting a bit closer to your style with this one, I think!
Thank you Gary - I was pretty pleased with it! Should I mention I also have a Kralik Iris knuckle bowl in mainly pink, complete with foil label? No mark though .... Tee hee ; )
Thank you kerry10456 and manddmoir.
I thought that might get you! I'll see what I can do. It's raining, so it may have to be indoor pics and they never turn out so well, but I'll try ...
Thank you, Obscurities! It's nowhere near your wonderful pink Ikora-ish piece, but not bad for a beginner, I thought. I just couldn't leave it there...
Thank you, AmberRose, vetraio50, Greatsnowyowl, inky, lynnlove70 and Mac63!
Thank you, Al!
Thank you, Slave-to-glass and bratjdd.
Thank you, Austro!
It's great to see a Kralik manufacturer's label. Thanks for posing it!
